Google+ social network gets games

Google Inc is including the ability to play games on its new social network. Games are one of the most popular features on Facebook such as Angry Birds, Sudoku and Zynga Poker, Google said on Thursday.
In a blog post, Google engineering chief Vic Gundotra said Google+ games were being step by step rolled out, and would be presented to everyone on the social network almost immediately. The games are the first add-ons to be allowed for the burgeoning stage.
Google will at first offer 16 games from third-party game developers, adding the popular Angry Birds game.
The addition of social games fills in a key piece of the puzzle as Google strives to take on Facebook, the world’s No.1 social network with more than 750 million users.
Google launched its social networking service in late June, signing up more than 10 million users in the first two weeks.
Google Inc said it will roll out games step by step on Google+ and intends to make the game feature available to everyone “soon.”
